This report presents the findings from a qualitative research project with federal government employees. The overall objective of this process was to investigate the perception that official languages policies pose a specific barrier to career advancement for visible minorities in the Federal Public Service in order to better understand the nature of the concern. This qualitative research process is one part of a larger research initiative, and is intended only to shed light on the perceptions surrounding these issues, and the perceived nature of problems encountered.

Le présent rapport expose les conclusions d'un projet de recherche qualitative réalisé auprès de fonctionnaires fédéraux. Ce projet avait pour objectif de vérifier la perception voulant que les politiques en matière de langues officielles constituent un obstacle spécifique à l'avancement professionnel des minorités visibles dans la fonction publique fédérale, dans le but de mieux comprendre la nature du problème. Ce processus de recherche qualitative s'inscrit dans une initiative globale et vise uniquement à mettre en évidence les perceptions entourant ces questions et la façon de percevoir les problèmes relevés.
